PSV fan sneered at a sour Ajax fan: “Would have already been empty after 50 minutes.”

Enough has been said and written about the fact that PSV last Sunday lost the Johan Cruyff Shield battle 0-4 to AZ. Thanks in part to a quick red card for Joey Veerman, the match never really became a contest, and Peter Bosz’s team stood no chance against the Alkmaar side.

Despite the heavy defeat, the PSV supporters simply kept on singing and cheering the team on. That also impressed newcomer Sven Mijnans.

''Yes, I was also surprised myself. They really kept supporting us until the end. I was walking around there and really had to look around for a moment'', Mijnans said afterwards to the media outlet Sportnieuws.nl.

Yet this support could not count on everyone's approval. On the social media platform X, an Ajax supporter named @VAKKIE112 lashes out at the PSV supporters.

''Celebrating PSV fans in the stadium that are having a great time, even during a 0-4 deficit in their own arena. Absolutely bizarre,'' writes this sour Ajax supporter.

There reacts PSV fan Henk, known as @Hvdn83, and writes: ''Tweet of the season and the season still has to begin! Section 112 had already been empty after 50 minutes. Crazy, just that supporters support when they’re behind!''

There is mixed reaction. ''It is of course a bit bizarre that you're happily standing there singing while you are now 0-4 down; you're not the Netherlands national team clowns audience. I was annoyed by it'' and ''Excellent. 9/10 tweet. Especially because it is written without irony,'' among other things, sounds like it.
