Peter Bosz snaps back one more time and turns to the press: “Then I didn’t hear you.”

In the run-up to PSV - Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, coach Peter Bosz spoke once more about Ruben van Bommel’s incident with Aaron Bouwman last Saturday during Ajax - PSV (1-3). Bosz said this on Wednesday afternoon during the press conference ahead of the match against the Ukrainians.

Van Bommel received a lot of backlash on social media after the match, and the PSV player also received a lot of criticism from the necessary analysts and columnists. Still, the PSV left winger was not the only PSV player who received a lot of criticism.

Peter Bosz was also dealt with severely by, among others, journalist and also Ajax player Henk Spaan. At the press conference, a journalist asks Bosz whether the coach has provided any follow-up care to Ruben van Bommel, since Van Bommel was proclaimed by part of the Netherlands as the 'biggest villain in the Netherlands'.

Afterwards, the trainer also points out the harmful role of the press. ''Because of you. The media too,'' Bosz begins his reply. ''I still want to say this: one thing is also connected to the other. That we realize that well,'' the coach continues.

The training coach has decided not to talk to Van Bommel. ''Because so much has been said about that boy and with that boy that I think: 'If I also sit down with him one more time, it could also be overkill. So I'll take a look later to see how he comes in,' Bosz says.

After a follow-up question from the same journalist, the coach says that Van Bommel was trained just fine after the squad had a day off, after which Bosz speaks out about the commotion that arose after the moment at the Johan Cruijff Arena. ''Laughable, ridiculous'', the coach begins, who also doesn't want to look back on it anymore.

''This was one action, or whatever I should call it. And so much has come from it. We’re talking about football and tomorrow we’re going to play a Champions League match. Yesterday I saw it at Porto, with the same VAR, an action where I did see an elbow, where nothing was done about it. Let me say first: I’m very happy that it’s going well with Bouwman, that next week he can be back on the pitch and start training again. But come on, I didn’t hear anything from you about Pléa,'' referring to the fact that the Frenchman was severely injured last year on a visit to FC Twente (0-2) after a hard challenge by defender Robin Pröpper. ''And he’s been out for a year now. Then I didn’t hear or see that collective outrage. It’s over now, also for Ruben,'' Bosz said.
