Napoli director points to Noa Lang: 'Not behaving properly'

1 min read

As many as 110 million streams on Spotify has Noa Lang now to his name. Or rather, behind his name. That was revealed last weekend. A record for the talented Noa Lang, who was also in the news last week because of his likes directed at friend Geertruida.

Lutsharel Geertruida was last Saturday evening the big standout for PSV against Ajax. The newly-minted PSV player also scored a beautiful goal just before halftime, which Noa Lang had also not missed. Geertruida was also praised by Noa Lang for his fine strike against Ajax. Well, the Ajax players who still think that Noa Lang is a real Ajax player are increasingly being disappointed, but that aside.

'The head is warm', Lang wrote on Instagram with the necessary likes and heart emojis after the beautiful goal for PSV in the Johan Cruijff Arena. PSV won partly thanks to the goal by the former Feyenoorder, and convincingly, with a 1-3 victory over Ajax.

In Naples, Lang’s stint went a bit less well last week. The Napoli board stepped in last week and punished Noa Lang for the Champions League clash against Arsenal, which was lost at home 0-1.

Noa Lang was left out of Napoli's team selection for the Champions League clash against Arsenal for disciplinary reasons. That’s not something Napoli board member Giovanni Manna has been shying away from in recent days. Italian media are still discussing what happened at Napoli. The Italian arm of Sky Sports reports that it would have to do with his conduct during training.

"He didn’t behave properly during the week and watched the match next to me, but there’s no problem," said club official Manna in conversation with Sky Sports Italia. "The player has offered his apologies to the coach and the players’ group. We value honesty and everything is fine. Things like this happen, after all."

You PSV fans are gonna hate this, but the key is keeping possession under pressure, not just "more intensity". When PSV hold the ball, they look like the better team. 💯

Omfg the winger numbers were wild. If they can repeat that output, we win matches without even relying on late chaos. 🔥⚽

Tbh the defensive shape sounds a bit optimistic. If the fullbacks step up like in those training clips, one quick counter and youre chasing again.

"im not sure about the role" is exactly how i felt too. They need the ball faster in transition, Luuk-style isnt the answer if the runners arent there. 👀

If the article is hinting at PSV pressing higher, im all for it. But dont let it turn into a half-commitment, thats how teams slice you in midfield.
