Heavily criticized: “This year it’s provoking a lot of resistance”
1 min readLast Sunday, Peter Bosz was not a happy man. PSV lost, after all, despite a 1-2 lead, 3-2 away at FC Twente.
With that, Bosz's team suffered the first competitive defeat of the 2026/2027 season. For the first time since 22 March 2026, PSV therefore lost a competitive match again.
Back then, PSV with ten men went down on their visit to Telstar (3-1). In the east of the Netherlands, there is also a lot of criticism of PSV’s training coach.
That tells journalist Tijmen van Wissing of RTV Oost in the program De Oosttribune of that same broadcaster. ''I think he really enjoys giving a kind of lecture. Like: 'You idiots don't understand anything and we should have won this match'. That's very entertaining. I notice that Bosz is provoking a lot of resistance this year,'' begins Van Wissing.

In addition, the journalist points to the stamp of 'coach with beautiful football, but no trophies' that Bosz has always had stuck to him on his arrival at PSV. ''Sunday, some people also came up to me who are annoyed by him. Since he’s started winning, he’s begun to get some cracks. I really like that gloomy look,'' the reporter continues.
''In terms of the way I see it, I still think he’s the nicest coach in the Netherlands, but he can be a troublesome man. If he loses, he can simply be a troublesome man. I recognize that, but anyway. In the end, I found it a bit petty, because it was an evenly matched game. Only FC Twente wanted it more'' continues Van Wissing.
Then analyst Jan van Staa steps in. ''I was at that press conference and then you first have to wait three quarters of an hour at that table before he comes and sits down. Then he sits down and then he says nothing. Then you shouldn't go and sit down there'', said Van Staa.

Jan van Staa saying Bosz sits down and says nothing after waiting three quarters of an hour... that's not a good look. For a coach who wants control, you'd expect more clarity after a 3-2 swing. 👀⚽
Bro, that energy works when you're collecting points. After the first competitive loss of the season though, the arrogance narrative sticks. Need a fix on game management ASAP. 🔥
The part about people coming to Tijmen saying they get annoyed by Bosz is very real. When you win, it's "beautiful football", when you lose, it's instantly "arrogant". Also that "bedrukte gezicht" comment, lmao. 🤡
If you are up 1-2 away, you have to control the chaos.
That interview quote is so spot on. Bosz loves the "college" thing but when it goes wrong, everyone sees it. Also losing after leading 1-2 to end 3-2 is brutal, tbh.
