From Amsterdam it sounds: “Bizarre to see that PSV still wins so easily at 70%.”
1 min readThe winning coach is always right and so it also applies to Peter Bosz, who saw Esmir Bajraktarević score the winning goal at the Johan Cruijff Arena. The substitutions made by Bosz came off well on the one hand, but on the other hand they also didn’t.
Both Mijnans and Bajraktarević, as well as Wanner, were particularly weak, with a lot of ball loss—whereas Ivan Perisic was actually still far from ready to be substituted, and made that clear to his coach.
Ajax - PSV also became the match of Ruben van Bommel, who receives a lot of criticism. In particular, Hugo Borst went very far with his criticisms after the PSV - Ajax match. There, Peter Bosz turned out to be pleased with it, but more on that later.
Van Bommel would rather not come in front of the camera himself, but Bosz did. "I’ve just come from Ruben. He is very upset in the dressing room. He was the only one who didn’t celebrate in the dressing room, because that was absolutely not his intention. And yes, if you see how that boy from the pitch leaves, that isn’t nice", says the coach in an interview with ESPN.

Bosz doesn't know whether Van Bommel should have been shown a red card. "That might sound strange. This is my player, you know. I think it's a very difficult one. Because you see: at a certain moment that ball bounces up and he sprints after it. He's strong and he wants that ball. And in the very last moment he sees that they are about to collide with their heads. That's what he told me. So he turns his body.”
“He comes in at high speed and it indeed looks like that, because he turns his shoulder toward it, so you think: what is he doing? But you have to imagine this: if you don’t do that, then you come at each other head-on with the two of you, with your faces colliding. Only: you run into a wall with him, because that guy is incredibly strong. And he works at being strong every day. So I don’t think you can blame him for that. But of course it’s at high speed, and especially when you see the outcome”, said Bosz.
Meanwhile, the Amsterdam supporters seem to be able to accept the defeat against PSV reasonably well. The 1-3 defeat is therefore also readily accepted, it seems. A fan of the Amsterdammers would have preferred to see their favorites offer a bit more resistance against PSV. 'Bizarre to see PSV at 70% still win so easily,' it says on X.
Bizar om te zien dat PSV op 70% nog steeds zo makkelijk wint.
