ESPN analyst lashes out at PSV over hard nuts: “I think they themselves realize it too.”

According to ESPN analyst Anco Jansen, PSV certainly should go to the transfer market after the match against AZ in the Johan Cruijff Shield, for in particular defensive reinforcements. Jansen says this in the program Tekengeld on ESPN.

So far, things have been fairly quiet for PSV on the transfer market, with only Sven Mijnans being signed. So far, that’s been it as well.

''Sven Mijnans has of course come, but that was also quite a while ago. We’ve now seen him in the Johan Cruijff Shield, and I can imagine that there are defensive concerns. And really on every position as well. Maybe that Bosz, after the match, still walked over to Stewart’s little room and said: 'Have you seen it now?'', says Jansen.

Especially towards the back, the former footballer sees problems in Peter Bosz’s side. ''Maybe the market for players in those positions will only get moving later. Bosz is not worrying too much yet, but I think they realize it themselves as well. Last year, Ryan Flamingo-Yarek Gasiorowski was already not a good pairing and Jerdy Schouten had to go back for the footballing ability. Then you also have defensive problems in the center,'' the analyst continues.

In addition to the central duo, the analyst is also critical of, among others, Kiliann Sildillia and goalkeeper Matej Kovar. ''And your full-backs... Kiliann Sildillia is just a very mediocre player, who last year already had to play too much. On the left, you often play with midfielders in that position, and it is still not clear what will happen with Sergiño Dest. And I still have doubts about that goalkeeper as well. Maybe Nick Olij should be given a chance once. That there are defensive concerns, that seems pretty clear to me,'' concludes the analyst.
