Analyst drops below the threshold in analysis about PSV: 'He is under internal pressure'

How would Marcel Brands and Earnie Stewart look at the statements of Vandaag Inside Chris Woerts? Or not at all with a weak little smile, with emphasis on weak, because of course it’s really about nothing at all that Woerts comes out with about Peter Bosz.

Chris Woerts openly speculates in Nieuws van de Dag about the early departure of Peter Bosz at PSV. The 62-year-old coach is, in the words of the sports marketer, "internally under pressure" after the heavy defeat against AZ in the race for the Johan Cruijff Shield. "He will never finish the season if he keeps performing so badly", Woerts says about Bosz.

Bosz has been under contract with PSV since the summer of 2023, but the coach from Apeldoorn is, of course, performing very well. Leaving aside a somewhat sluggish start to the season, it is very likely that his team will simply start to recover over the coming weeks. Last season, Bosz was frequently linked with the position of national team coach of the Netherlands, but in February of this year the coach put an end to those rumors by extending his contract with PSV until mid-2028.

Still, it is very unsettled around his position, because Bosz continues to make remarkable remarks about the national team coach role from time to time. Last Sunday, PSV were soundly beaten at their own Philips Stadium in the battle for the Johan Cruyff Shield. Cup winner AZ made the most of an early red card for Joey Veerman and ultimately won the traditional season opener with a resounding 0-4. On Saturday, PSV fails to beat Fortuna Sittard, and that triggers a flood of new criticisms, which Bosz dismisses. The same applies to Brands and Stewart.

"I think Bosz actually should have become the new national coach", says Woerts Monday evening in Nieuws van de Dag. "He is now basically going to be running after the facts. I think: after yesterday, Peter Bosz is also under pressure within PSV. He is never going to finish the season if he keeps performing as badly as this", says the outspoken Woerts.

Dinner guest Bram Moszkowicz looked extremely dubious during the presentation by the analyst from Vandaag Inside. "That’s just one match—how can you blame him for that?" Woerts continues: "I think it’s more about mentality, and the composition of the group. He’s going into his fourth year—that’s a very long time for a coach. Usually the effect wears off after two or three years. I know Peter very well; I worked with him at Feyenoord. Nice guy, a very good analyst. But: too long at PSV", concludes Woerts his meaningless analysis, which may be called unworthy of an analyst.
