Ajacied tackled in Ajax – PSV: “It looked a bit like Argentine temperament”
1 min readThere has been a lot said and written after the match Ajax - PSV (1-3) from last Saturday. Not specifically about the match itself, but above all about the action by Ruben van Bommel on Aaron Bouwman in the 80th minute, even though afterward there could certainly also be some things said about the conduct of a few Ajax players during the match.
Van Bommel subsequently, among other things, was hit by a torrent of hate reactions on Instagram, and this action also caused a lot of controversy at the club. In doing so, Bas Roorda, team manager of PSV, was firmly targeted on social media.
In that scuffle, former striker of both PSV and Ajax Wim Kieft focuses primarily on captain Davy Klaassen of the Amsterdam team, who at that moment was on the bench as a substitute player. In the podcast KieftJansenEgmondGijp, Kieft is amazed by Klaassen’s behavior.
''He fully gets into it, but that one has never killed a fly. He’s a really sweet boy, but it seemed a bit like an Argentinian temper,'' begins the born Amsterdammer.

Then René van der Gijp laughs as he joins in. ''Stop me, stop me'', says a laughing Van der Gijp.
Kieft is also not happy with the behaviour of the Ajax end after the incident. ''All those Ajax players who stormed the field after Van Bommel's foul—I would never have felt called upon to do that. The total outrage that has risen in the Netherlands, you know. I found it extremely wild what that guy did; it was reckless and it is simply a red card,'' said the former striker.
