Ad de Mos is normally spoken of as a fan, but now critically: “That’s his fault.”

Also Aad de Mos saw that PSV last Sunday lost at home 0-4 to AZ in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Shield. In a video item for the Eindhovens Dagblad, De Mos discusses the match against the Alkmaarders together with PSV watcher Rik Elfrink.

''I saw a match in which PSV, just like against Villarreal, has problems with their buildup. The buildup was once again extremely poor. Players, in my view, were not in the right positions'', the analyst begins, and the former PSV coach, who is also in a sense critical of Peter Bosz, whom he certainly is a fan of.

According to De Mos, captain Mauro Junior is also not playing in the right position. ''That is also something Bosz can be blamed for. I think Mauro is a good midfielder when playing against a stronger team than PSV. Then you need someone who can win the ball and who can do a better job than those players who cannot let other players function according to their strengths, as last year with (Ismael) Saibari and with (Joey) Veerman'', the former coach continues.

The analyst also has a tip for Bosz ahead of the first Eredivisie match of 2026/2027 at home against Fortuna Sittard. ''Just play him as left-back. And then he has to put together another midfield. Veerman isn't there either. He has to think about that himself too—since he's not doing well.'', De Mos passes along as advice.

Then the born resident of The Hague criticizes PSV for a lack of intensity. ''Players also don’t have the intensity, even when it’s eleven against eleven, to really want to win. So it all becomes a bit covered up in the analyses and also glossed over'' De Mos continues, pointing next to AZ coach Leeroy Echteld. ''If Echteld really had been a real guy, he would have been playing with a defender less already after ten minutes'', the analyst says, referring to AZ's five-man defense.

''When he did that, PSV had absolutely nothing left to say'', the former coach continues, before going back to PSV. ''And something really has to happen with the team. And we all know what was on the stands and still: the eleven against AZ and Villarreal on the pitch have not shown me that they really have hunger'', De Mos says.
