Aad de Mos puts question marks over PSV target: 'Has never been able to convince me'
1 min readPSV seemed to have been keeping pretty quiet on the transfer market over the past few weeks, unlike Ajax. Now it looks like PSV is finally starting to gain momentum, as Kodai Sano and Filip Kostic are well on their way to signing a contract with PSV.
In addition, PSV has still not given up on the fight for Lutsharel Geertruida. Geertruida has already reached a personal agreement with PSV and would like to come to Eindhoven.
The only and biggest stumbling block is the asking price that RB Leipzig is demanding for the former Feyenoord player. The Germans, in fact, want an amount of twenty million euros and Jeroen Kapteijns of De Telegraaf said that PSV would rather loan the defender.
Aad de Mos is nevertheless not entirely impressed with Oranje international. De Mos says this in a video item for Eindhovens Dagblad with PSV watcher Rik Elfrink.
''He has never been able to convince me with the Netherlands national team; he has never been able to convince me at RB Leipzig. He has, however, been able to convince me at Feyenoord, when he played as a full-back. But I think there are already two full-backs, unless Sergiño Dest were to leave'', says De Mos without a doubt to Elfrink.
After that, the PSV watcher says that Geertruida is primarily wanted by PSV as a central defender. ''No'', De Mos replies to that, clearly making it known that he is not a fan of the defender.
Elfrink, on the other hand, is much more positive about the former Feyenoorder. ''Peter Bosz sees it in him. He can take care of the buildup from the back'', the journalist said.
Despite this, the former PSV coach is not convinced. ''That is up to Bosz. I see him more as a right-back who can make an extra man in midfield,'' the former coach says.
About Kodai Sano and Filip Kostic, the analyst is again positive. ''Those are players who have managed to convince me already. Especially Kostic, an international type like Dusan Tadic. Good trapping technique, a good cross, experience. And Sano is for me top, absolute top'', concludes De Mos.

Eens. The link-up play looked way better when the fullbacks tucked inside. If they start doing that from the first minute, this could get ugly for the opponent. 🔥⚽

Bro, dont tell me Bergwijn/Teze are the answer if the buildup is still too slow. We need more quick combinations in the half-spaces or it feels like youre inviting the press.
The midfield balance sounded a bit off in the way they described it. If Tillman is the link but the 8 is too static, teams just overload one side and we look slow to react. imo we need faster second-ball wins, otherwise it will be the same story.
If PSV really want to press higher, you can already see it makes sense with the front three. But the midfield has to cover the second balls or we get punished on the counter, no excuses.
If PSV really pushed the pressing higher like that, i gotta ask how we control the space behind Sangare when the ball gets recycled. Nice idea, but without a clean cover, it feels like we invite counters. 👀
